It's hard to believe but we will be leaving early on Feb 11th to arrive & leave from Nashville airport on Wednesday to fly from Newark, NJ. We leave from Newark- fly north over Canada, cross the Arctic circle & down over Siberia & Russia to arrive around 3 PM Beijing time on the 12th. I never knew planes actually flew over the arctic circle- pretty strange.
13th we will be visiting the Great Wall & the Living Hope Orphan training center. This is one of the 3 Christian orphanages run by our adoption agency for older orphans. They take older kids- who have aged out in the other orphanages. Its exciting to be able to see God healing the brokenness that long term orphanage care can leave. There is a link www.livinghopeintl.org. Later in the day we see the Olympic Stadiums & enjoy a real Peking duck dinner.
14th-we Will visit Tienanmen Square, the Forbidden City & see and acrobat show.
15th-Visit the summer Palace - with a late night flight to Nanning- where we will get Olivia.
16th-Gotcha day!!!!!
17th- Adoption paperwork at the Civil affairs office
18-19th- to be determined tourist activities. We hope 1 day will be visiting her hometown were she was abandoned.
20th-Fly to Guangzhou- where the US Consulate is
21st- Medical exam & paperwork @ the consulate
22nd- Tour Guangzhou city
23rd-Consulate appointment-
24th- oath at Consulate
25th- Fly from Guangzhou to Beijing-to Newark to Nashville (total 22 hours of flight time !! Yikes)
We can't wait to meet Olivia!!!!!!!!!!! Abbey is practically beside herself to be able to go. She may drive us nuts before we get to go! :)
